Mike Hipwell is a contemporary composer and sound installation artist. He works with the sounds of the natural environment, taking field recordings of birdsong, streams and rivers, the wind in the trees. In the studio he exposes the harmonies of these sounds, using their individual notes and rhythms to provide the basis of the composed music. Mike is also a classically trained musician with a broad range of experience in many different musical genres.
